This is basically the exact same argument I’ve been making with all my libertarian and liberaltarian friends.
This is the most unconvincing article I’ve seen on the topic so far.
How could any libertarian vote for a fascist warmonger whether it is Romney or Obama? They are both scum…
Good question, and this article doesn’t answer it. It starts off by bashing Obama (which is not an argument FOR Mitt Romney, no matter how much Republicans think it is), and then goes into a dreamy narrative about the American dream and American ideals. It wraps up by bringing up ObamaCare, which Mittens can’t decide if he loves or not, and things like Dodd-Frank that fall more under the control of the Congress that Democrats are likely to control (at least halfway).
Really helping your cause out there, bud.
Who’s butthurt? I think it’s the “conservatives” and Republicans who got 300 frickin’ people running for their nomination in this election and they ended up with Mitt Romney. Now they see this dude is doing everything he can to lose, so it’s time to blame the Libertarians for being pissed off we’d didn’t get “our guy” and pointing out the corruption and pure idiocy of the GOP party structure.
The genuine “Conservative” in the modern sense, that feared for the direction of the country and felt home in the Tea Party movement must feel pretty shitty after ending up here.
Part of it has to be denial. The push for all these other candidates by “the base” was because they never wanted Mitt, and now they got him anyway.
I’m sorry, I bring it up again. I know it annoys some people but, the Republicans/conservatives/Bush voters had four years of Tea Parties and anti-Washington “protest”, and now us Libertarians have to take shit because the power structures within that movement caved to the establishment GOP leaders (Karl Rove and the like).
It’s not our fault you didn’t see the writing on the wall.
And it’s not even that our guy didn’t win. That in itself is disappointing, sure, but our guy didn’t win because delegates were coerced and cheated by the RNC and his supporters were ostracized and ignored by the media. If you wanna bring up the Einstein quote about insanity, how insane would it be for us libertarians to get behind Romney after being treated like that?
You’re asking us to betray our principles to support a party that has treated us like enemies. Sorry to break it to you, but that’s not gonna fucking happen.
Hey fellas, lighten up. We get it, you’re not voting Romney. Settle down.

• I’m anti-nationbuilding but support our military efforts before the wars became a political babysitting game. I know...
Any libertarians voting for Romney this go around need to turn in their secret decoder rings right now. You are not...
I just sound like a liberal because I disagree with you. Or was it because I denounce our military movement overseas?...
^ Good commentary. Republicans can mamar mis huevos if they think i’m ever voting for Romney. But what should we expect...
Ew.
I wasn’t pissed about what happened at the RNC. I felt vindicated and every Libertarian should have felt the same way....
Wow. Great read. If you consider yourself an independent or libertarian, you need to read this. Great find.
